Authentic Experiences​

Expressions from Africa is a reflection of the privilege I have had of living in, experiencing, and sharing the wonders of this remarkable continent. My first journey into Botswana in 1966 remains one of the most treasured experiences of my life—a journey I can still recall and relate to others as though it happened only yesterday. For the past 55 years, I have also had the privilege of living on the doorstep of the Kruger National Park, surrounded by the extraordinary wildlife, landscapes and timeless experiences that Africa conEtinues to offer. Through this website, I hope to share some of those memories and stories with others.

Focus​

My focus goes beyond Africa’s remarkable wildlife. I also explore the many beautiful and fascinating experiences found in and around the Mpumalanga Lowveld — from its spectacular landscapes, waterfalls and natural wonders to its rich cultural and historical heritage. In particular, I have a special interest in the early gold-mining days of Barberton and the remarkable stories of the pioneers who helped shape this part of South Africa.
