Expressions from Africa is a personal initiative that combines a love for nature with an appreciation for music. My platform presents a unique blend of educational and musical storytelling, aiming to immerse visitors in Africa's essence.
The journey began in 1955 at the age of six with a simple passion for Africa’s wildlife and music, and has evolved into a vibrant showcase of the continent’s treasures. I sought to share the beauty and diversity of Africa with the world. Click on image to listen.
Core Values
My three values come together in what Expressions from Africa is really about: sharing the Africa I have known, creating an emotional connection with it, and giving others a moment to pause, reflect and experience it for themselves.
Authenticity
Authenticity is important to me because the stories, music and experiences I share come from a lifetime of personal memories and experiences across Africa. After more than 70 years, I have accumulated many moments that I want to preserve and share—not simply as facts about Africa, but as experiences that were meaningful to me.
Connection
Connection is about bringing people closer to the Africa I have experienced. I want my music and storytelling to go beyond simply showing landscapes, wildlife and cultures. I want people to feel something—to experience the atmosphere, the beauty and the emotion of Africa, even if they have never been there themselves.
Reflection
Reflection is about giving people a chance to slow down and escape from the demands of everyday life. Through the music, sounds and stories, I want to create a calm space where someone can relax, close their eyes, and allow their imagination to take them somewhere else.
